Reason for participation:
- Prove the digital free-to-air broadcast model coupled with on-demand entertainment in a high speed broadband connected world;
- Demonstrate how advertiser funded content can reduce the incidence of content piracy;
- Develop and grow services for delivery to the television for ubiquitous use versus services being only available via computer;

Business: State Government
Reason for participation:
- To participate in a project that will aid understanding of National Broadband Network (NBN) by way of showcasing entertainment and service delivery over broadband beyond the PC. As the television is the communication tool this Project will demonstrate that broadband services are not limited to PC households or those with computer or keyboard skills.
- To partner in studies under a controlled environment in which statistical research can be conducted to provide a better understanding target NBN users fears, needs, expectations and demands which will ultimately inform product and service design as well as consumer demand.
- To obtain a rich source of information that can be communicated to the general public in a bid to underpin the NBN purpose and value proposition, which will ultimately influence citizen support for the NBN initiative.
- To participate in a project that will demonstrate to the local community the value of converged broadband and broadcast in line with Commonwealth and State Government endeavours and more broadly communicate its message on a national and international scale.

Business: Telecommunications Provider, Franchise of Community Telco Australia, an initiative of the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank
Reason for participation:
- To Provide fibre optic internet connectivity, VoIP telephony services, equipment installation, and on going customer care throughout the duration of the trial
- To demonstrate to the Tasmanian Community how the NBN will fundamentally make their lives simpler, less complicated, more organised and provide more time to concentrate on the important things in their lives.
- To demonstrate the extensive opportunities the NBN will deliver to Tasmanian business via the digital economy
- To develop knowledge around relevant services in the NBN environment and develop value propositions for schools, hospitals, business and residential markets
